Days ago, Twitter launched their new Follow button. The new Follow Twitter button gives the opportunity to all Twitter users to connect with their favorite brands and websites.
Same as the Facebook Like button, the Follow button from Twitter will allow your to follow your websites Twitter profile just with one click.

Before, all the websites and blogs used widgets or direct links to their Twitter profile in order to gain followers and that meant the opening of a completely new window in order to complete the process of following. But with the new Follow button all is completed with just one click.

Any idea how to customize the button for blogger so that the number of followers can be placed underneath the button? My sidebar is not wide enough to display the number of followers next to the button, but I would still like to be able to use it!
Hi Jon!
We tried to customize the button with CSS in order the followers number to appear underneath the button, but for now without result. Because here is late night now, we will try tomorrow, so if we find some other ways of doing it, you will be informed.
Happy blogging!
Hey, thanks for trying! I’ll check back later and see if you’ve had any success…I’m guessing there are lots of other people in the same situation! Thanks
Any luck?
Thanks!
Hi Jon!
I feel very sorry, because I didnt succeed to help you fix that. So I gave this job to a friend, a programmer and he is looking after it. But I could not get in contact with him these days, maybe he is busy. I hope you forgive us for not being able to respond you quickly. Meantime I suggest you to visit this blog http://www.shoutmeloud.com/twitter-launches-follow-button-photosharing-service.html
The owner is an Indian guy, a very successful blogger and programmer, so feel free to ask him, maybe he could help you.
Sorry again Jon!
If I find some solution, be sure I will contact you at your blog!
Greetings!
Hi Reegon, thanks for trying! I did just find a work around. In the code for the button you can add a data-show-screen-name=”false” so the screen name doesn’t show, which then allows enough room for the follower count. Works well for my blog!
