How to add My computer, My Documents and My Network Places Icons on Desktop

When you choose the XP start menu ordering instead of Classic Start menu, the icons on desktop like My Computer, My Documents and My Network Places disappear. There are 2 ways to get them back and both of them are very easy.

The First way

The first way is when you open start you see the My Computer, My Network Places and My Documents icons. All you have to do is right click on the icons and press Show On Desktop, and it will be placed on desktop. You have to do this for all the icons one by one.

The Second Way

The Second way is to right click on desktop, go to Properties, go to desktop in the top tabs, and Customize desktop … down below. And then on the desktop icons section, check the My Documents, My Network Places and My Computer click OK and they are on your Desktop.
